We are lucky to have Holocaust survivors in our area who can directly relate their experiences to us. We'll be celebrating two additional holidays during the next several days. Israel celebrates its Independence Day on Yom Ha'Atzmaut and its Memorial Day on Yom HaZikaron. The two days follow one another. Israelis celebrate the 68th birthday of the State of Israel with fireworks, barbecues, and sizable celebrations as soon as the sun sets following the national day of mourning.
